The Inaugural Tournament

Welcome to our 1st annual Glimmer of Hope Golf Tournament in support of Epilepsy York Region.  The tournament will be held at Royal Ashburn Golf Club on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 and promises to be a day of relaxation and fun.  If you prefer not to golf you are welcome to join us for dinner only.

This tournament is inspired by Alexander Lesti. This wonderful little boy is 2 1/2 years old and has struggled most of his small life with epilepsy. Similar to many children with epilepsy, not only does he have to endure multiple seizures daily but also struggles developmentally due to the seizures and the side effects of the medications. Through it all, Alex continues to put a smile on everyone’s face and shine so much light on the world. We would like to give a little bit back to him with our Glimmer of Hope Golf Tournament for Epilepsy. Please join us and help us to raise money and awareness for this cause that touches so many lives.

A Bit about Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a neurological disease characterized by recurrent seizures.  A seizure occurs when there is a sudden burst of brain activity.  Epilepsy can affect people of all ages.   In Ontario approximately 95,000 people live with epilepsy and about 6,500 will develop epilepsy each year.

Epilepsy York Region (EYR) is a volunteer- driven organization that provides education, advocacy, awareness and support to individuals living with epilepsy and their families.
